Tran, Product Owner at SEB Life International, shares her unique career journey. With experience in Vietnam, Singapore, and Ireland, she values SEB's teamwork culture.
“I moved to Ireland in 2015 after receiving a full scholarship to study Digital Innovation at University College Dublin,” Phuong shares. “It was an incredible opportunity to continue growing my skills in a dynamic and international environment.”
Prior to her move, Phuong spent four years working as a Business Analyst and Project Coordinator for a leading payment switching company in Vietnam. There, she helped develop cutting-edge automation solutions for banks—an experience that sharpened her technological and problem-solving capabilities.
“After that, I worked in an Insurtech company in Dublin and Singapore as both a Business Analyst and Product Owner, which really deepened my understanding of product development and agile methodologies.”
Phuong joined SEB Life International in 2022 and today she works as a Senior Product Owner for the Business Intelligence team.
Tell us more about your current job! What makes the Product Owner role at SEB so exciting?
Phuong explains that as part of the Business Delivery Team, she works closely with Developers, Product Specialists, and Testers to deliver innovative business intelligence solutions that support strategic company initiatives.
“Our mission is to deliver impactful reports and dashboards that ensure group compliance and provide users with actionable insights. We use both on-premise and cloud-based tools to bring data to life in ways that add real value.”
In her role, Phuong is responsible not only for shaping the product vision but also for driving continuous improvement in how we deliver.
“A big part of what I do involves identifying gaps in existing processes. By improving these, I can help boost team efficiency and performance. I also serve as Scrum Master, where I focus on removing roadblocks and creating a collaborative, high-performing team environment.”
“The best part of my role is owning the product vision and ensuring it's aligned with the wider business strategy. I’m empowered to make decisions that drive value, and that autonomy allows me to make a direct impact on both the product and the business. It’s incredibly rewarding.”
