Meet Tina Tincheva, Financial Reporting Manager at SEB Life International. She highlights the empowering work environment at SEB and gives us an insight into her role. 

“I’ve been part of SEB for about three years now, working as a Financial Reporting Manager within the wider Finance team here in Dublin. Before that, I spent four years working in audit at a Big 4 Financial Services firm, primarily working with clients in the investment funds and insurance sectors. It was a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment that really pushed me to grow both technically and professionally.

That experience helped me build a solid foundation in finance and accounting; and yes, I genuinely love a good spreadsheet! It also gave me the confidence to take on more responsibility and step into a management role where I could apply those skills in new and impactful ways.”

Tell us more about your role! What does your team do?

“My current role is both dynamic and rewarding. As a relatively new manager, every day is a school day; which keeps things exciting. I lead two teams that cover different but interconnected areas of the business.
One team is focused on financial reporting related to the company’s assets under management. We put a lot of emphasis on delivering accurate, high-quality reporting, while constantly improving and streamlining our processes to enhance data quality and efficiency.

The second team manages the settlement of policyholder investment trades along with cash management activities. These areas require close attention to timing, accuracy, and coordination with other teams, so there’s never a dull moment. No two days are exactly alike, and that variety is a big part of what I enjoy about the role.
The role gives me visibility across many different parts of the business, and over time it has grown to include more involvement in projects, which keeps things fresh and engaging.

There’s a nice balance between structured day-to-day responsibilities and space for innovation. I’m constantly learning, but also applying what I’ve learned in meaningful ways, which is incredibly satisfying.”
